Reconnect To Emotions

Image
DETACHMENT 2.0 This time 10 years ago, I'd spent 303 days of continuous self-investigations and writing about my findings, to learn about self and become more connected to others. This post I wrote 1st November 2015 on DETACHMENT, shows how far I had come along my path learning about why we become depressed. The word 'depression' is a perfect word for explaining the process of pushing down our emotional feelings – a lowering and compression of our feelings, which are importantly used for life guidance, – which helps us to know what has value, what is important to address immediately and what steers us on the right path. When we don't take responsibility for our feelings and if we allow others to take over our decision making processes, that in-turn, suppresses emotions, we become impacted with blocked emotions that build up to cause disease of the mind and impaired with symptoms which will develop in the body expressed as 'heaviness', lack of desire and no moti...

Multi Brain

MULTIPLE PERSONALITIES We are all made by a multiple legion of different personalities. Like an actor can channel characters for a role using  method or character acting , we can also slip on a mask to choose our  persona  – or allow our persona to choose us. We are in charge. Yet, we all tend to blindly conform to rules set out by and for a well-functioning society, with rules installed in us by our parents and our teachers. By the age of seven, the programmes have been set. We run on autopilot for most of our waking moments and the voices we hear in our heads, tell us when and what to eat, who to talk with and how to speak, when to listen/speak and what to say or not say. These are our habitual patterns. So are 'we' really in control? Let us define what the 'we' actually is. Even the words used to describe ourselves – 'we' and 'us' – are all plurals. That is because multiple minds exist within our being, and make up the individual 'group mind...

The Path To Psychopathy

Image
MAKING OF A PSYCHOPATH The path to psychopathy can begin with traumas suffered as a child. Poor upbringing and pain - either psychological or physical pain, tend to render the receiver disconnected from emotion. Emotional intelligence enables the individual to emphasise with others, for sharing feelings associated with the perceived pains. A child in their formative years, functions within the mostly Theta brain wave state. This is a receptive program state, where the behaviours can be instilled within the child, which benefits the individual and society in later years or harmful patterns of behaviour can be carried forward into adulthood, where the behaviours have negative aspects. A child or long-suffering adult, who has experienced a lack of love, will be mostly unable to reciprocate love or will be inverted to love and tenderness, displaying traits of self-abasement, sadomasochistic and perverted sexual nature. The Dark Triad Types There are three main aspects of the  da...

READING THE SIGNS Life is a magical mystery tour with many twists and turns along the way. Our greatest wisdom, can be attained through learning  which paths lead us  towards the most successful outcomes.  First, as the ancient greek philosophers pointed out (literally written in stone), we need to 'know thyself' – which in itself, is the most difficult quest of all. Our passions, our preferences and general outlook on life, are constantly changing. How can we truly 'know' the person in the mirror? Firstly, we have to break the chains of self deceipt.  Dr Robert Trivers  has worked diligently over 40 years, attempting to understand the logic and role of deceipt in human life. Just 14 minutes in to  this video , Robert's research concludes that the 'truth' is in our subconscious mind. Increasingly often, it's the lies we display consciously, protected via our 'Ego, in order to avoid detection by an observer and potential rival. So adapt have we become...

Self Psychology

A PSYCHOLOGICAL ADVANTAGE Psychology  is the scientific study of our mental processes and behaviours. Understanding a basic level of psychology can award us an advantage in life. Understanding the behaviours of other people will be key for personal and business relationships and understanding our own minds will identify our strengths, weaknesses, preferences and where we can improve or undo negative behaviour patterns. When I first started looking at the basics of Psychology, I quickly realised that if science was able to rationalise our behaviour, then applying these intellectual ideas to my own processes could greatly help to justify my thoughts and actions in a more subjective way. And so it follows, that learning these workings of the brain will give us greater potential for understanding the requirements for living out purposeful, happy lives.  We Are All Representatives We are led by our unconscious minds. The person each and every one of us thinks we are, is just...

Self Awareness

SELF  ACKNOWLEDGMENT I can vividly remember the first time when I became self-aware. It wasn't my first strong memory from childhood, which was actually when I fell down the stairs at barely three years old. It was the first moment I really became aware of myself and being able to address myself from a 'wider third-person' perspective. The memory was not triggered by shock, pain or etched into my memory through other sensory experiences. The moment when it happened, was not framed by anything particularly significant. I was 6 1/2 years old, facing the full-length bathroom mirror and this was where I recall looking into my eyes and expressing out loud, how I was never going to forget being in this moment. My 2 1/2 year old brother was next to me at the time and I encouraged him to try and do the same by looking into his own reflection. I wanted to freeze time. I was trying to connect myself to the future and can still see my young face addressing me now. The vision is so s...
