THE MAN WHO ATE A PLANE Back in the 80's and 90's, it seemed we'd reached the pinnacle of human achievement – especially regarding the accumulation of wealth and physical achievements – pushing boundaries in bodybuilding, endurance and speed. This was a period of technological advancements as well as for pushing the bounds of human achievement and in many ways it marked a point passed in ethics, morality and common sense. Record Breakers It was also around this time that many new bizarre feats of human achievements were recorded in the Guinness Book of Records. One man who stood out for me was Monsieur Mangetoute – Mr 'eat everything'. Michele Lotito passed away at 57 – of 'natural causes' and it is this (mis-) classification of Mr Lotito's early demise that struck me as the most bizarre.
