A SPOON FULL OF SUGAR The Victorian era was when our 8,8,8 day was first established. Breaking up the day into work, rest and play time was designed to prevent burnout and to better manage the workforce. Parks, recreational spaces, hospitals and children's nurseries were set up as 'sweeteners' for the populace – but they were really set up to ensure healthier workers for greater productivity. Eight hours of sleep really IS the best medicine to ensure the other two-thirds of our day can be fully utilised. With clean water and fresh air being the most essential ingredients needed, plus quality nutrition and low stress to stay in balance, we can all maintain a good level of health. Division of labour during the Victorian era ( Peak Freans  clip 1900's) – meant many workers were required for specific jobs in a factory 'conveyor belt' fashion.
