Movement For Vitality

THE BIO-ELECTRICAL HUMAN Our bodies are made up of  billions of cells , including symbiotic microorganisms which all communicate to create a harmonious balance in the body. The energy we need to sustain the body, exists all around us. Food calories from fat, carbohydrates and proteins as well as minerals, nutrients and vitamins are assimilated from our food. However, as some  scientists are realising , there are other forms of energy, which nurture the body, that modern science has not yet been able to explain fully. Frequencies in the form of light, sound and electromagnetic electricity are abundantly found in water and air – two of our precious sources of life-sustaining elements we need for survival. We are 75% water and breathe around 20,000 times in a day, so we're already absorbing and transmuting these key elements into bio-electrical energy, which is key for energising the mind, body and soul. It's widely accepted that we receive all energy from calories co...

Breathing Routines for Energy Harnessing

Image
TAKING FIRST BREATHS Morning routines needn't be taxing on energy or time – they can be as gentle as simply breathing. Our essentials for life are breath, water, sunlight and love. These simple energy-enhancing benefits, can all be activated from the comfort of our home, park or anywhere there's a space to focus. From the moment we wake from sleep, to the moment we climb back into our beds, we are breathing in and out  thousands of times . The action of breathing is both autonomous and we can direct our breath consciously. Amazingly, we are never taught to breathe and many folks, who have  issue with anxiety , also have issues with breathing – and visa versa.  Yoga has many benefits for health and one of its founding practices, focuses purely on breath.  Box breath  (even breaths), is just one of the many beneficial breathing techniques that can create calm and balance before your day begins.  Dragon's Breath Troy Casey's  video above, captures ...

Daily Routines

SETTING UP YOUR DAY Getting out of the wrong side of baed is a phrase awarded to those who are not at their best. Perhaps lifestyle – stress, coupled with poor diet, over-indulgence of the wrong food types, plus late nights and lack of sleep are contributing factors. Or maybe negative thoughts and holding patterns may be contributing to a depressed mood. If the mornings are usually a struggle, there may a number of things that need to change. Likely, if mornings are not the best time for you, becoming a member of the  5am club  is something out of the question. So making the most of the remaining time throughout our day is where we can optimise on developing body, mind and spirit. The best time to focus on ourselves, is when we are ready to do so – be that early in the morning, late in the evening or any time in between. The key is to factor-in this time for ourselves. We can even practice yoga mindfulness while on-the-go.  You Make Your Own Bed From the moment we wake, u...

Morning Routines

EARLY BIRD CATCHES THE WORM As the title suggests, the best time to activate energy systems, focus the mind and strengthen the body for whatever the day may bring, is a period shortly after waking, early in the morning. Robin Sharma's  5am Club  was first introduced to me back in 2014. It was discovered at a pivotal moment in time, when the effects of burning a candle at both ends were becoming increasingly apparent, with diminished energy levels, failing health and reduced mental acuity. Up until that moment, the relied upon adage 'work hard - play hard' system, had been the favoured mantra repeated throughout 20's and 30's. Evidently, moving past 40, the 'bounce back' wasn't proving to be quite as effective any more, so it was definitely the right time for lifestyle and mindset changes. This step, propelled me onwards, to a  a year of dedicated mindfulness , is the seat of my newfound knowledge and reason both my partner and I are developing along an...

READING THE SIGNS Life is a magical mystery tour with many twists and turns along the way. Our greatest wisdom, can be attained through learning  which paths lead us  towards the most successful outcomes.  First, as the ancient greek philosophers pointed out (literally written in stone), we need to 'know thyself' – which in itself, is the most difficult quest of all. Our passions, our preferences and general outlook on life, are constantly changing. How can we truly 'know' the person in the mirror? Firstly, we have to break the chains of self deceipt.  Dr Robert Trivers  has worked diligently over 40 years, attempting to understand the logic and role of deceipt in human life. Just 14 minutes in to  this video , Robert's research concludes that the 'truth' is in our subconscious mind. Increasingly often, it's the lies we display consciously, protected via our 'Ego, in order to avoid detection by an observer and potential rival. So adapt have we become...

Examples In Leadership

THE HUMBLE WARRIOR The warrior's path, is one littered with many trials and tribulations. As the warrior journeys onwards through a life fulfilled by an attainment of spiritual integrity, his greatest risks will be reflected more in the actions of retreat than in battle. The formidable warrior is one that accepts their vulnerability with grace and bravely struggles on with this knowledge. Men and the male archetype, are predominantly seen as the aggressor, dominator and driving force behind many violent manifestations in the world past and present. This warrior spirit will be the result of misspent energies arising from those who have not learned to direct a  warrior's spirit towards the good , positive change and champion the right action in themselves and others. Female warriors are as much to blame for adopting this hardened, cold and emotionless approach to leadership, resulting in corruption, trauma, misery and suffering in the world. The warrior is defined by the actio...

Projection & Self-Reflection

Image
FACING OURSELVES We project an identity of self which our peers, family and friends come to know as our true selves. This same persona – our avatar for the world – is how we are perceived by others, but it's often a perception far from reality.  We never get to know this character, as a lot of this projection is generated to mask our true identity, much of what we put out there, is false and because we rarely take the time for self-reflection, we leave ourselves open for identity crises. Self Denial Our defence mechanisms are so powerful, that left unchecked, we could find ourselves living out an existence which is contrary to our truest desires. Relationships, careers and life paths can all be heading us in the wrong direction as the defence programs kick in to steer us away from fear, risk and any perceived harm. Fear of doing the 'wrong thing' or of being an outcast from the group, because our views are contrary to those around us, or fear of failure through taking per...
